American Airlines adds flights to new warm-weather destinations from O’Hare

CHICAGO — Travelers flying out of Chicago O’Hare will have access to seven new destinations through American Airlines later this year, many of which are popular warm-weather vacation spots.

Launching in November and December will be nonstop service to the following:

  • Chicago to Curacao (CUR)
  • Chicago to St. Croix (STX)
  • Chicago to St. Maarten (SXM)
  • Chicago to Guatemala City (GUA)
  • Chicago to San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO)

The Guatemala City flight will be offered year-round while the others will only be offered in the winter season.

American Airlines will also be adding more flights to Roanoke, Virginia (ROA) and Akron/Canton, Ohio (CAK) this fall. Flights to those cities can be booked starting May 5.

The airline will also be offering flights to 17 new destinations from O’Hare, including Honolulu, Madrid and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

“As we get our first taste of spring in Chicago, we are already looking ahead to giving our customers a reprieve from the bitter Midwest winter with more than double the flights to popular vacation spots,” American’s Vice President of ORD Operations, Ben Humphrey, said.
