BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Riverside Park in Brownwood is now open to the public once again after a $3 million expansion.
Phase 1 of the two-phase park improvement project is complete as of Friday morning, bringing the following upgrades to Riverside Park:
Reconstructed roadways & ample new parking spaces
Sidewalks, fencing, and ribbon curbing
New underground electrical and lighting systems
A beautiful new pavilion with expanded seating, string lights & food truck hookups
Fresh landscaping, irrigation & new entrance signage

Riverside Park initially closed for renovations in January 2024.
This improvement project costs $3,113,912.06 and is being funded by the city’s federal American Rescue Plan allocation.
Phase II is funded by a Texas Parks and Wildlife Grant and is expected to begin in Spring 2026.
