UPDATE: Suspect charged with kidnapping in Hamlin Amber Alert abduction
JONES COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A suspect has been charged with kidnapping in a Hamlin Amber Alert abduction case.

Terry Jeter (43) has been charged with kidnapping in connection to the abduction of Skylar Beach (10).

Terry Jeter was charged with Kidnapping just hours after he was found to be with Amber Alert victim Skylar Beach, 10, according to Hamlin Police Chief Jay Strong.

The two were located in Hamlin around 11:30 a.m. Thursday after an Amber Alert was issued for Beach, who was last seen in the company of Jeter April 30. She was supposed to return home around 8:00 p.m. but never did, prompting the Amber Alert.

“I can’t talk about the circumstances of the event of the inquiry, but we’re so grateful for the community support and that of our fellow law enforcement agencies,” Chief Strong explains.

Jeter is not blood related to Beach, despite social media rumors, according to Chief Strong. He is a family friend who has known Beach for a long time.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Rangers, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Highway Patrol, the Texas Game Wardens, Texas Parks and Wildlife, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the 259th District Attorney’s Office all assisted in the successful location and recovery of Beach.
