My Pi Pizza to serve its last slice after over 50 years in business

CHICAGO — My Pi Pizza, one of the most iconic pizza restaurants in Chicago, will be closing its doors after over half a century in business.

The last day to get a slice of delicious deep-dish pizza from My Pi will be in late June, the restaurant announced on Instagram.

“After more than five decades of making our signature pizzas, the time has come to say goodbye,” the social media post said.

The first My Pi location opened on Sheridan Road in 1971 and has since operated in Bucktown for the past 25 years. The restaurant has even expanded to over 20 locations in nine states.

“We’ve been honored to be part of your celebrations, your cravings, your late nights, and your family dinners. Your support means the world to us,” the post read.

The pizzeria will continue accepting nationwide shipping orders until June 22.

“Thank you, Chicago. Thank you, Bucktown. Thank you for 54 unforgettable years,” the restaurant said.
