The Bruins got their first podium of the day in the men’s 1500 meter, where Aidan Arthur ran a 3:51.69 to take first and add his name to the list of Bruins in the All-NWC pool. Ellie Rising won the women’s 1500 meter, running a 4:35.79, a full three seconds ahead of the second place finisher, and earning All-NWC honors.
After finishing first in the prelims of the men’s 110 meter hurdles, Blake Smith finished the job in the finals, running a 14.65, a personal best and good enough for first place. In the women’s 100 meter hurdles finals, Ayahna Bahati and Jenna Huntsmen finished first and second, respectively. Bahati ran a personal record 14.33, and Huntsmen a 15.18. All three runners are now on the All-NWC team.
Karys Gates edged out a Linfield runner for third place in a thrilling finish, running a 58.73 compared to the fourth place 58.75, as she earned a spot on the podium.
Arthur got on another podium in the men’s 800 meter final, finishing second with a time of 1:53.78. On the women’s side of the 800 meter, Ellie Rising grabbed a first place finish, and Annalise Gonzales finished in third. Rising ran a 2:10.99 and Gonzales a personal best 2:16.41 as she earned All-NWC honors.
