Free adult painting classes at Rapides Library this May

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) — The Rapides Parish Library will host a series of adult painting classes across multiple branches throughout May, offering local residents an opportunity to explore their creativity and connect through art. Each session is free, but registration is required as space is limited.

Main Library (Alexandria):

• Acrylic Painting with Alice McBride
  • Thursday, May 1, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Monday, May 12, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
    Local artist Alice McBride will guide participants through various acrylic painting techniques.

• Watercolor for Adults with Writer Thomas
  • Wednesday, May 7, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 21, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
    These sessions will explore expressive watercolor techniques for all skill levels.

Libuse Branch:

• Lighthouse Painting
  • Monday, May 5, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    In a beach-themed session, adults will paint coastal lighthouses.

    This unique workshop explores sharpie painting paired with rubbing alcohol for striking effects.
