By rssfeeds-admin Deputies say they were doing a follow-up on a case from Sunday night, in which Mikhael Palmer, 41, of Fresno, was wanted after allegedly pointing a gun at two people he knew and forcing one of them into a vehicle before taking off.
The sheriff’s office says the victim was found a short time later and was okay, but Palmer was nowhere to be found.
On Monday, the sheriff’s office got a possible location for the suspect. They report that as they were sending patrol units to contact in northwest Fresno around 2 p.m., he left.
According to deputies, the sheriff’s office helicopter then started to follow Palmer, but Palmer noticed the helicopter and tried to evade it. It is believed that Palmer had become so preoccupied with the helicopter that he took his attention off the road and crashed his vehicle into a wall in Herndon between West and Van Ness avenues.
Deputies report no other vehicles were involved in this collision. The suspect got out of his vehicle and tried to get away, but deputies took him into custody. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says, once he is cleared, he will be booked into jail under suspicion of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, probation violation and being a felon in possession of ammunition.
