Chicago police said the incident happened just after 5 p.m. in the 400 block of West 112th Street near South Stewart Avenue in Roseland.
A 17-year-old girl was running northbound on South Stewart Avenue when she was hit by a silver sedan also traveling northbound on South Stewart Avenue, according to investigators.
Police said the sedan then came to a rest in the 400 block of West 112th Street after hitting a fence. The driver of the sedan, a female, then got out of the vehicle and ran away.
The teen, meanwhile, sustained blunt trauma to her body and was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition.
No citations were issued and the investigation is ongoing.
