The seventh annual Broadcast Transformation Report, released March 4, surveyed more than 1,300 broadcast professionals globally. The findings show that 41% of respondents cite enabling remote production as their primary technology focus for the year ahead — the fourth consecutive year it has topped the list.
The report also tracked a significant rise in the use of the SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) protocol. Since its debut in the report in 2020, SRT usage has grown from 47% to 78% in 2026.
“Broadcasters continue to evolve their workflows while navigating operational and financial realities,” Marcus Schioler, Haivision VP of marketing, said. “The report reflects a broad industry perspective balancing innovation with operational reality, where reliability, flexibility, and efficient contribution workflows are essential to supporting future growth.”
