The end of the workweek brought cooler temperatures and some soggy conditions to Chicagoland.

The skies were mostly cloudy as showers and thunderstorms swept across the region through the afternoon hours.

Friday’s rainy conditions came after Thursday’s sunny skies and warm temperatures offered a taste of spring.

Things eventually cleared up by around 5 p.m., but the cool temperatures hung around, even after the sun began to shine.

Friday’s rainy conditions came after Thursday’s sunny skies and warm temperatures offered a taste of spring.

While warmer conditions are expected heading into the weekend, another round of showers and storms is likely to arrive as the workweeks begins.

Those who suffer from seasonal allergies faced a rough one on Friday as tree pollen was at a high level, with Birch and Maple being the most prevalent. Grass pollen was at a moderate level and mold spores were at a low level.
