Teen girl missing for over a month last seen on Far South Side: CPD

CHICAGO (WGN) — Authorities in Chicago are asking for help in the search for a teen girl who has been missing for over a month.

Police say 17-year-old Kaylin Murphy, who was last seen in the 8200 block of South Green Street, in Auburn Gresham on the Far South Side, has not been contacted since March 20, 2025.

Murphy, who has black hair and brown eyes, stands 5-foot-6 and weighs around 140 pounds.

The missing teen was last seen carrying a pink purse while wearing a white t-shirt, light blue jeans and a black hoodie.

Authorities offered details about the teens’ disappearance in a news release shared on Wednesday afternoon.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 17-year-old Kaylin Murphy is asked to contact the CPD Area Two SVU at 312-747-8274 or dial 911.
