Louisiana man accused of sextortion in multiple states

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Labadieville man accused of child sex crimes who was previously arrested faces new charges.

David Santiago Arvizu, 27, was charged with 138 counts of pornography involving juveniles, 77 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles, five counts of computer-aided solicitation for sexual purposes, five counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and four counts of extortion.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said he was previously arrested in January on similar charges. Investigators learned from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office in Florida in November 2024 that Arvizu was a suspect accused of using social media to obtain inappropriate content and using it to extort victims. Deputies said victims were identified in Florida, Washington, Virginia, Texas, and Arizona.

APSO stated that evidence was recovered during a search in January 2025 that linked him to the crimes.

Arvizu was booked on new charges on Tuesday, April 22. The sheriff’s office noted that he was being held without bond on earlier charges.
