LSU Health Shreveport chancellor resigns

SHREVEPORT, La (KTAL/KMSS) – Dr. David Guzick, Chancellor and Dean of the School of Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport has resigned from his position, sources confirm to NBC 6 News.

According to the sources, Dr. Guzick recently submitted his resignation to the LSU System Board of Supervisors.

Dr. Guzick has served as the med school’s chancellor for a little over two-years.

He was instrumental in the LSU Health Sciences Foundation’s purchase of the old Sears building at Mall St. Vincent. The 160,000-square-foot building will be used as a research facility when renovations are complete.

The LSU System is expected to comment on the resignation of Dr. Guzick before the close of business on Wednesday, according to the sources.
