According to the sheriff’s office, callers have been telling deputies about a white car with an Illinois license plate that a man and woman have been driving around in, claiming to work for a satellite TV company.
Law enforcement said the pair allegedly asked residents to enter their homes, asking to perform a satellite speed check.
“From all indications, this appears to be some type of scam or the possibility to case out residences to burglarize later,” deputies wrote.
Staff with the WCSO said if you see this vehicle or two strangers come to your door, do not let them inside, ask them to leave, and call Wayne County Dispatch at (606) 348-9111 to have deputies sent to investigate.
