According to the Rockford Police Department, officers with the department’s Specialized Community Oriented Policing Enforcement (SCOPE) team spotted the juvenile walking in the roadway in the 1100 block of Bluefield Street.
When officers stopped to talk to him, they discovered he was armed with a loaded handgun that had been reported stolen in Kenosha, Wisconsin, police said.
The teen was incarcerated at the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with Improper Walking in the Roadway, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
Due to the offender’s age, police did not release his identity.
