INDIANAPOLIS — Engines are firing up at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as the countdown to the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge officially begins with the Indy 500 Open Test, taking place Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Fans can watch the action for free, as drivers hit the iconic oval for Rookie Orientation Program, refresher sessions, qualifying simulations, and full-field practice. Spectators are welcome in the Turn 2 Mounds and Southeast Vista grandstands, with free parking in Lot 3P and ADA-accessible parking and seating also available.

The Indy 500, scheduled for Sunday, May 25, is packed with events and announcements leading up to race day:

• Rob Gronkowski, four-time Super Bowl champion and current FOX NFL studio analyst, will serve as Grand Marshal of the Coors Light Snake Pit, making his Indy 500 debut on race day.
• Midland, the Grammy-nominated country band, will headline the Firestone Legends Day Concert on Saturday, May 24 in downtown Indianapolis.
• Fans are encouraged to register their Indy 500 Porch Party, decorating homes and yards to celebrate May traditions and for a chance to win prizes.
• Amazon Prime Video is producing a feature-length documentary chronicling Kyle Larson’s attempt at “The Double”, racing both the Indy 500 and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.
• Ticket prices increase May 1, so fans are urged to act fast to secure seats for the race before the cost of reserved, general admission, and Bronze Badge access rises.
• TAG Heuer is offering a chance to win two grandstand tickets to the 2025 Indy 500. Entries must be received by April 27, 2025.
