JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A 65-year-old man was arrested in connection to a shooting in Jackson.

Bailey Martin, with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said the shooting occurred on State Street before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21.

Martin said Capitol police located one person suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers also arrested Willie Thomas, 65, at the scene.

According to Martin, the case was given to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) for further investigation.
