The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office stated that a joint investigation into wire thefts in both parishes resulted in the arrest of Jermaine Johns, 46, on April 11.
Investigator Chris Morgan with CPSO was tipped off about three individuals stealing copper wire from AT&T job sites. In collaboration with Bossier investigators, search warrants were secured and simultaneously executed at each suspect’s home in the respective jurisdictions. “Remnants of AT&T copper wire” were found at the locations.
Johns was brought to the CPSO detectives’ office, where he admitted to selling the stolen copper wire for cash. He was arrested and booked into Caddo Correctional Center on one count of illegal possession of stolen property. The other accused men Jessie Winnfield and Fredrick Hicks of Princeton, La. were arrested by BPSO investigators.
The value of the stolen copper wire exceeded $ 10,000, according to the CPSO.
