Officials from the Utica Fire Department say the 14-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital on Thursday after he fell into LaSalle Canyon at around 5 p.m.
The teen, who officials say is from the Hinckley-Big Rock area, fell about 20 to 30 feet into the canyon and crews were on the scene for about and a half hour as they worked to pull him to safety.
Crews then carried the teen from the canyon and placed him in a boat that they took to the helicopter zone.
The teen was later flown by helicopter to the hospital where he was listed in good condition.
