15-year-old injured after 30-foot fall near Bridal Veil Falls

PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — A 15-year-old male sustained serious injuries after a fall in Provo Canyon, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO).

Sergeant Ray Ormond, UCSO’s public information officer, said that around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the 15-year-old fell approximately 30 feet in the Bridal Veil Falls area of the canyon. He sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his head and leg.

Both the Intermountain Life Flight and Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) helicopters responded to help retrieve the injured teenager. The DPS helicopter hoisted the 15-year-old and brought him to the parking lot, Sgt. Ormond said.

The North Fork Fire Department transported the teen to the hospital from the parking lot. He was with family members at the time of the incident.
