Lane closures announced for I-5 in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Caltrans announced lane closures for Interstate 5 in Fresno County beginning April 21 for asphalt and paving work.

Caltrans announced moving lane closures on Interstate between Manning Avenue and South Hudson Avenue for crews to do asphalt and paving work along the two-and-a-half-mile stretch of the interstate.

Per officials, the first closure will begin on April 21, and the last lane closure is expected to go through May 15. All the closures will happen between 6 p.m. to 10 a.m.

According to Caltrans, the following will occur beginning April 21:

  • The northbound number two lane will be closed from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. starting April 21, through Thursday morning of April 24.
  • The northbound first lane will be closed from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., starting April 28 until May 1.
  • The southbound first lane will be closed from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., starting May 5 until May 8.
  • The southbound number two lane will be closed from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., starting May 12 at night until May 15th.

Caltrans officials warn motorists to drive with extra care and allow additional time while traveling near construction zones. Additionally, they say that closures might continue for a longer time in case of delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events.
