Montgomery man given 16 years for sexually assaulting 2 child relatives

MONTGOMERY, Ill. — A west suburban man will spend nearly two decades in prison for sexually assaulting two child relatives.

31-year-old Maxwell Jordan, a Montgomery resident, who entered a plea of guilty to one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault in early 2025, was sentenced to 16 years in prison, Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis announced Wednesday.

According to Weis, charges against Jordan were filed following an investigation that began in 2022 after he “voluntarily and unexpectedly” confessed to deputies at the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office to sexually assaulting two minor children.

Further investigation into the claims revealed that the two victims were relatives of Jordan and he had begun abusing them when he was he was still a minor himself.

Following the admission, investigators interviewed the victims with the help of the Kendall County Child Advocacy Center.

Prosecutors said Jordan was charged shortly after the investigation began and has remained in custody since then.

After the contested sentencing hearing, Jordan was handed two eight-year sentences that must be served consecutively.

Jordan’s sentence was handed down in March by Judge Jody Gleason and he will be required to serve at least 85% of the sentence.

Prior to any release from custody, Jordan will be subject to a sexually violent/dangerous person evaluation and could be civilly committed by the Attorney General’s Office after their prison sentence is completed.

Following the completion of his sentence, Jordan will remain on a mandatory supervised release for three years to life and he will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Prosecutors did not provide a booking photo for Jordan.
