NOTE: This article has been turned into an almanac of Tuesday’s weather. We have published a new forecast/weather story for Wednesday.
It was far cooler Tuesday than the past three days when temperatures reached the 60s consecutively Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
A gusty northwest wind which reached speeds of 35+ mph at times for much of the area helped usher in the cooler temperatures which were about 5 degrees below typical mid-April levels. The day began with extensive cloud cover and even some light rain, but clouds broke around lunchtime allowing more sunshine to emerge in the afternoon.
Mid-afternoon temperature snapshot indicates readings were as much as 12-degrees cooler than the same period on Monday.
Allergy count continues to rise. In addition to high tree pollen, the grass pollen took a noticeable jump from Monday, moving from low to high in just 24 hours.
