GRETNA, La. (WGNO) — Weaving its way through the court system is a case involving a fatal crash that occurred in Gretna in February.
At his arraignment on Tuesday, 33-year-old Stephan Juarez entered a not guilty plea to several charges, including vehicular homicide and drunk driving. He’ll have a pre-trial hearing at the end of May.
Gretna police say Juarez struck 76-year-old Hubert Gauthreaux and 73-year-old Victoria Gauthreaux as they were getting into their parked car. Both died at the hospital.
Their grandson was 21-year-old Hubert Gauthreaux, one of the victims who died in the New Year’s terrorist attack on Bourbon Street.
