Heads Up, Abilene: Expect loud skies ahead of Dyess airshow
ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) — As planes and crews prepare for the Wings Over West Texas airshow, Abilene residents may hear a little more noise in the skies.

Dyess Air Force Base’s Office of Public Affairs announced that residents may start hearing engine roars overhead as soon as Wednesday.

  • Wednesday, April 16
    • Thunderbird #8 arrives
  • Thursday, April 17
    • Many airshow acts and the remaining Thunderbirds arrive
  • Friday, April 18
    • There will be an aerial practice, and the remaining acts will arrive
  • Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20
    • Wings Over West Texas Airshow

Air Force officials say that residents should expect to see and hear many aircraft, including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the B-29 Superfortress, and the P-51 Red Tail.
