Disco Chicken trolls Raising Cane’s Rockford opening: ‘All chicken deserve seasoning’

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Disco Chicken, the downtown Rockford chicken eatery, trolled the opening of the new Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers on its opening day.

Raising Cane’s is celebrating the grand opening of its new Rockford location on Tuesday, April 15th.

The Baton Rouge-based restaurant, which boasts its “ONE LOVE” of chicken with a focused menu that includes chicken fingers, fries, coleslaw, and Texas toast, operates on the spot formerly occupied by Stone Eagle Tavern, at 6445 E. State Street.

Raising Cane’s is also known for its signature dipping sauce and is known nationally for its breaded, unseasoned chicken strips.

Disco Chicken, the DJ-club-themed chicken restaurant with a rooftop patio, located at 212 E. State Street, took to Facebook on Tuesday, saying, “In anticipation of Raising Cane’s opening in Rockford, we at Disco Chicken are here for you in your time of need…and seasoning.”

The restaurant promises it will give away Nickle Bags of its “disco seasoning” to “Caniacs,” as Raising Cane’s fans have become known, starting at 11 a.m. today.
