According to a press release, the closure will allow Citizens Energy employees and private contractors to excavate a portion of the roadway and complete underground sewer repairs. Citizens Energy expects the roadway to reopen after sewer repairs are completed on Friday.
Detour signs have been posted in the area to help traffic get around the closed intersection. Despite the posted detour, Citizens Energy is still encouraging local motorists to steer clear of the area to avoid traffic-related delays.
Citizens Energy has been in contact with businesses and institutions located near the closed intersection like the Arthur R. Baxter YMCA and Perry Township Schools.
As of this article’s publication, no additional information on the closure had been made available.
