Louisiana bill would allow school boards to require students to go through security screening
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Louisiana bill would allow school boards to require students to go through security screening before entering campus.
House Bill 225, authored by state Rep. Chad Brown (D-Plaquemine), would amend current law on public school safety. Screening could include students going through a metal detector or a manual or electronic bag search.
Proposed legislation would also allow these searches during a school day or for extracurricular activities on campus.
