Freeport police find pistol, arrest felon during search

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — Freeport Police arrested Chase Hale, 28, during a search on Friday.

On April 11, officers searched a residence in the 800 block of South Walnut Avenue for weapons. Authorities found a loaded pistol and ammunition.

Hale was soon after taken into custody. He was taken to the Stephenson County Jail, where he is still being held.

The suspect is a registered felon, according to police.

Hale is charged with possession of a weapon by a felon.
