According to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office, tips received in December of 2020 led to an investigation by the Louisiana Department of Justice into Guillermo Cadir Lopez-Pineda.
Due to leads from Lopez-Pineda’s internet service provider, as well as his Gmail and Facebook accounts, investigators said they were able to positively link him to the crimes, and he was arrested in October 2022.
The district attorney’s office reported that investigators found 136 illegal images on his cell phone.
At the conclusion of his trial, the jury deliberated for around an hour before returning guilty verdicts on four counts of distribution of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13, and one count of possession with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles under age 13.
Lopez-Pineda’s sentencing is scheduled for May 1.
