Floodwaters on Owensboro’s riverfront continue to rise

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Ohio River remains elevated Wednesday, with water levels continuing to rise on Owensboro’s riverfront.

Veterans Boulevard and much of Smothers Park, including the Lazy Dayz Playground, are closed due to high water. These closures will remain in place until the river recedes, and crews can safely clean up the area.

Officials are reminding the public to avoid the area until crews deem it safe.
