Bevy of Bruins set new PRs in McMinnville

PORTLAND, Ore. (GFU ATHLETICS) — The George Fox track and field team attended the Jenn Boyman Memorial Invite to compete in various events, picking up PRs left and right.

Cole Nichols had the fastest time in the Men’s 100m with a time of 11.19 seconds, coming in 10th place overall with his best time of the season. In the Women’s 100m, Jenna Huntsman placed sixth with an outstanding time of 12.87 seconds, while Victoria Azar followed close in 13.18 seconds.

Ayahna Bahati set the bar high in the Women’s 100m hurdles when she won the heat in 14.83 seconds. Meanwhile, in the Men’s 110m hurdles, Blake Smith also finished in first place with a clean PR of 14.65, moving him up to third all-time in GFU history.

Both Fox athletes for the Men and Women’s 400m finished in seventh place—with Josiah Sohus at a time of 50.97 and freshman Karys Gates with a PR of 1:00.35.

Thomas McMillan accomplished a PR of 55.71 in the Men’s 400m hurdles, finishing in third. For the Men’s 800m, Simon King finished in fifth with a time of 1:57.89, and Ellie Rising in first place in 2:10.03—her season’s best.
