Authorities say the bodies were found in the 300 block of N 15th in Cornelius.
WCSO says the kids were all under the age of 13. The adult was identified as a woman.
No arrests have been made, WCSO Deputy David Huey told KOIN 6 News. The initial call came in just after 3 p.m. after someone found the four bodies, he said.
One neighbor told KOIN 6 News the children always seemed happy but knew something was wrong when he didn’t see them being taken to school in the morning.
“Very happy. A lot of the times we would see them always playing together. Nothing like this would have ever popped into anyone’s mind,” said Casey Dennis.
This is a developing story. KOIN 6 will have more information later in the day.
