IMPD investigating 2 dead on north side

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after two people were found dead near W 43rd Street and Cornelius Avenue.

According to a release written by officials with IMPD, just before 8 a.m. on Sunday, IMPD officers responded to the 4300 block of Cornelius Avenue to investigate a death.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found two bodies lying on the sidewalk with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene.

IMPD Homicide detectives have been called to the scene and have begun their investigation. The names of the victims will not be released until the next of kin process has been completed.
