The Lions proved that Monday night at Harahan Playground with a 7-0 win over John Curtis that improved their impressive record to 29-0.
Nicholls signee, Mason Canter, set the tone with a leadoff home run and would finish the night with two solo shots.
The rest of the scoring would come courtesy of a 2-RBI knock from Peyton Trosclair, a 2-RBI single from Kason Perry, and a sacrifice fly from Brennan Champagne.
Owen Trosclair pitched a complete game shutout for Covenant Christian, their 20th shutout win of the year.
“Owen did a great job on the mound. Mason set the tone early. I thought our guys just really battled at the plate, and we made plays when we needed to make them. I felt like this is a program win. For the program, you know, I’ve been here 18 years, and I felt like our guys were prepared today. We were glad we didn’t get rained out, and we’re we fortunate the ball went our way. Hopefully we can keep it rolling,” said head coach Joe Teuton.
The Lions and their unblemished record will face Erath Tuesday, Fisher Thursday, and open a two-game series with St. Charles Catholic Friday night.
