Diesel fuel spills into Licking River in northern Kentucky

PENDLETON COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Multiple containers of diesel fuel were spilled into the Licking River late Sunday night in northern Kentucky.

Rob Braun, a spokesperson for Pendleton County Emergency Management, told FOX 56 that the spill was caused by floodwater from the Licking River that got into a trucking garage near KY Route 177. The water seeped inside the garage and spilled two oil containers.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Officials said this is a hazardous material that was spilled, but, due to receding floodwaters, the oil is not expected to flow into the Ohio River.
