Two killed in Sunday New Orleans shootings

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department are investigating after two people were fatally shot in separate shootings on Sunday, April 6.

The NOPD reported the first shooting happened in the 7700 block of Willow Street around 2:49 a.m., where officers found two men who had been shot and a third man who was uninjured.

One of the men who had been shot was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to a hospital for treatment.

NOPD officials said the three men were driving in the area at the time of the shooting.

At 4:13 a.m., NOPD officers responded to a second shooting in the 6200 block of Dreux Avenue, where they found a man who had been shot.

He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Additional information on both shootings has not been provided.
