METAIRIE (WGNO) — The Holy Cross Tigers traveled to Mike Miley Stadium Friday night for game one of their series with the Rummel Raiders.
The Tigers and Raiders traded runs in the first three frames. The game was tied at 2-2 at the end of the third, but Holy Cross drove in six-unanswered runs between the fourth and seventh.
However, the Raiders took advantage of the Tigers’ pitching errors in the home half of the final inning. After Rummel scored on fielder’s choice, Holy Cross allowed three straight bases-loaded walks: two base on balls and a hit by pitch.
The Raiders kept the bases juiced and drew within one-run, following a sac-fly to left field, but Holy Cross managed to get the final out, before Rummel could complete its rally.
The Tigers beat the Raiders 8-7.
Game two of the series is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. over at Holy Cross.
These highlights were featured on WGNO’s Friday Night Fastball presented by Delgado Community College, Step Closer to Unstoppable.
There are five shows left in the 2025 series. They continue on April 11th, April 25th, May 2nd, and May 9th at 11 p.m. on Nola 38, the CW.
The show replays at midnight on WGNO.
