FNF: Brother Martin rallies from 9-0 deficit, beats Archbishop Rummel 11-10 Thursday

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Archbishop Rummel and Brother Martin began a two-game district series at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium Thursday night.

The Crusaders entered the series having already claimed the Catholic League crown, but the first matchup of the District 9-5A series was a roller coaster affair.

Rummel had an eight-run rally in the fourth and took a 9-0 lead, before Brother Martin responded. The Crusaders only drove in one run in the home-half, but the RBI groundout to second sparked a comeback.

Brother Martin responded with a nine-spot in the sixth and walked off Rummel with a sac-fly in the seventh.

The Crusaders beat the Raiders 11-10 and will finish their series Saturday at 3pm.
