Mayor Johnson appoints Anthony Quezada as 35th Ward alderman

CHICAGO (WGN) — Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson appointed an acting Cook County commissioner to be the new 35th Ward alderman.

Anthony Quezada will fill the vacancy left by Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, who left to head up the Chicago Park District.

Quezada, who currently serves as commissioner for Cook County’s 8th district, was recommended by a 35th Ward civic committee that interviewed and vetted all of the applicants for the job.

Johnson has called a special City Council meeting for Monday, April 7, to confirm Quezada’s appointment.
