Jacob Dease, 45, of Ariton, was indicted in connection with the death of Indea Dease, 50, who was killed in a car crash in December.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency stated Jacob Dease was the driver of the car. Indea Dease was a passenger. According to the ALEA, Jacob and Indea Dease were traveling on Dale County Road 72 the morning of Dec. 28 when the left the roadway.
The ALEA stated Indea Dease was fatally injured during the crash and soon after, the car was engulfed in flames. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Jacob Dease was seriously injured and was transported to Southeast Health Medical Center for treatment.
The ALEA stated Jacob Dease is being held in the Dale County Sheriff’s Office.
