2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur | Wednesday updates
EVANS, Ga. (WJBF) – The 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur is underway at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Georgia.

The first groups teed off of both No. 1 and No. 10 at 8 a.m. Macy Pate from the United States, Arianna Lau from Hong Kong and Caterina Don did the honors of starting the tournament on the first tee with Fred Ridley, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament, in attendance.

The field includes 49 of the top 50 ranked players in the Women’s Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).

Defending champion Lottie Woad, a junior at Florida State University from Scotland, will tee off of No. 1 at 9:44 a.m. in a featured group with No. 2 Jasmine Koo, a freshman at the University of South Carolina and Louise Rydqvist of Sweden, one of three University of South Carolina Gamecocks in the field.

“It’s a great field,” Woad said ahead of Wednesday’s first round. “This event always has one of the best fields that we play in. It’s just great that we get to play against all these people, especially some people that we maybe don’t see at college, get to test ourselves against them, as well.”

Augusta national women’s amateur champion lottie woad of england plays her stroke from the no. 3 tee during a practice round prior to the augusta national women’s amateur at champions retreat golf club, tuesday, april 01, 2025.

“I think just knowing the lay of the land, knowing where to go to get the shuttles, knowing where the concession stand is, just being familiar with everything and not being so lost, it’ll keep my head in a more clear head space,” said Koo, making her second appearance in the tournament after finishing fourth in 2024. “Overall I think I’ll just be more organized coming into this week.”

Golf Channel will provide live television coverage from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
