Kayakers rescued below Friant Dam, Cal Fire says

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two kayakers were rescued after being stranded in Fresno County just below Friant Dam, Cal Fire said.

Crews say they rescued two kayakers on Monday morning after they were left stranded on a small island just below Friant Dam in Fresno County.

Cal Fire says one of the kayaks overturned in the fast-moving water. The water rescue team assisted the two male kayakers to get back to the shore safely.

Pictures shared by Cal Fire show a glimpse of the rescue process to get the two male kayakers back to safety.

According to firefighters, no injuries were reported in this incident.
