IDENTIFIED: Man killed after being ejected, hit by vehicle in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man who died after driving off the roadway and down an embankment early Thursday morning has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 30-year-old Tyrone Lee of Elk Grove.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash took place around 12:30 a.m. on Manning Avenue and Highway 99 near Fowler.

CHP says Lee was traveling at high speed on Manning Avenue when he crashed into two raised concrete curbs, went airborne and ended up off the roadway and down an embankment, landing onto the highway below.

Investigators report Lee was ejected from his vehicle and struck by a passing vehicle. He died at the scene.

CHP adds he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
