“It’s spring break. I’m off work for the week, and she’s out of school for the week, so we decided to come,” said Birmingham resident Crystal Payne.
Spring break is giving many people the time to head out to the Oak Mountain State Fair during the week. Lisa Le, the vendor coordinator at the fair, says spring break on top of the typical weekend crowd is bringing a boom to business.
“I love just seeing all the families out here and all the smiles on the kids’ faces, and even grandparents’ faces,” Le said. “It’s just a great time to see the community come out and get involved.”
Whether you’re making new friends or hanging out with old ones, the Oak Mountain State Fair is a place where people of all ages can have fun.
“I just invited her because she’s like my best friend,” said Skilyr from Alabaster. “I thought it’d be a lot of fun to go ride all the rides.”
“We’ve been wanting to for a while, we missed the last couple of years,” said Hoover resident Mandy Page. “Just the atmosphere and the people and just getting out.”
The Oak Mountain State Fair will run through April 6. You can find more details about the fair here.
