PSP: Man confronted while trying to steal air conditioners, fires shots

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Delaware man is facing attempted homicide charges after state troopers say shots were fired when his attempt to swipe air conditioners was thwarted.

Javier Guzman-Bedolla, of New Castle, was arrested Monday and charged with attempted homicide.

According to State Police at Avondale, troopers were called Sunday to the 1600 block of Newark Road in West Malborough Township for a reported shooting.

There, troopers said Guzman-Bedolla was trying to steal air conditioner units and was interrupted by the victims.

He was confronted and fired shots. No one was struck.

He then fled via a pickup truck, troopers said.
