Rockford area Jersey Mike’s raise money for children’s programs

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Residents of the Rockford area looking to have a sub sandwich and promote programs for children have the chance to do both on Wednesday.

Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving raises money not just for Rockford area programs but programs nationwide. The event held by the chain started in 2011.

Locations in Rockford, Machensey Park and Belvidere are raising money for the Boys and Girls Club of Rockford, while Dixon’s location is raising money for Shriner’s Children’s Chicago.

Last year, the famous sub shop set a record after raising $25 million nationwide.
