Anjhanae Allen is a nighttime dispatcher at the Jeanerette Police Department. On February 27, Allen’s life would be turned upside down after she got the call that her house was on fire.
“I flew down main street, and when I got on, when I crossed over MLK (Martin Luther King Drive), I saw the flames. I knew,” Allen said.
The organization donated $100 to Allen and her family. While that may not seem like a lot, the small donation can make a big difference. Allen said she is speechless after Eastern Star donated the money to help her as she deals with what happened.
She said she is grateful for everything the community has done for her family as they continue to move forward following what happened.
“I don’t know how to feel like all the donations that I have gotten have been I don’t know how to even begin to say thank you,” said Allen.
