New Orleans woman arrested for smuggling drugs into federal prison
GRANT PARISH, La. (WNTZ) — A New Orleans woman was arrested following an investigation by the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office, which uncovered her alleged role in smuggling illegal drugs into Pollack’s federal prison.
Kalinda Celestine, 37, was taken into custody on charges of distribution of heroin, distribution of methamphetamine, distribution of Suboxone, and bringing contraband into a penal institution, authorities said.
Officials have not released additional details on how the narcotics were transported or the scope of the operation. The investigation remains ongoing.
