Woman arrested for drug smuggling attempt at Grant Parish Jail

GRANT PARISH, La. (WNTZ) – A San Antonio woman has been arrested after authorities say she attempted to bring drugs into a federal prison in Grant Parish.

According to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office, Quebec Patricia Raphael, 44, of San Antonio, Texas, was taken into custody following an investigation that uncovered multiple controlled substances in her possession. Deputies said Raphael had a 4-year-old and a 4-month-old child with her at the time of her arrest.

Raphael is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Suboxone with intent to distribute, taking contraband into a penal institution, and illegal use of drugs in the presence of a child.

No additional details were immediately released as the investigation remains ongoing.
